DON'T TAKE OUT A PAYDAY LOAN

Paid Surveys

A lot of sites that offer to pay you for filling our surveys are scams. They ask you for money for registering and disappear or just use the surveys to collect information on you and never send you the cash. Others pay you in points that you can swp for things. This is OK in theory but in practice you often need a very large amount of points before you can do anything and each survey only gives you a small amount of points. The surveys mentioned here all pay in cash.

I have taken part in surveys and have been paid by the sites on here.

Ciao is a very good site. You can transfer your balance to your bank account as soon as it is £5 which means that you get paid relatively quickly. Ciao regularly send out emails inviting you to take part in surveys which pay between 10p and about £3. They start with a few selection questions to make sure you are in the subset they want to survey and if so you go to to complete the whole thing. If not you are given an entry into a prize draw although I have never won anything.

As well as paid surveys you can also get paid to write reviews of products you have used. Everytime any other user rates a review that you have written as helpful your account is credited with a few pence. It doesn't seem much but it does add up. The site is also useful for reading honest reviews of products and has stopped me wasting money on poor products in the past.

YouGov is another good site. It is a very large organisation that a lot of  newpapers, magazines and television programmes use for their surveys. Their surveys tend to pay between 50p and £1 and you get an invitation at least once a week. The only downside is that you have to wait until your account balance is £50 before they will send you a cheque.

You are also invited to do mini surveys that take less than five minutes. You do not get paid cash for these but you get an entry into their prize draws and answering the questions on these makes you more likely to be invited to paid surveys in the future.

You won't ever get rich filling in surveys but you can earn a few extra pounds which may come in handy one day.
